The National Capital Region Chapter's mission, "seeks to fulfill on a regional level the American Red Cross mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors." They are guided by, "seven fundamental principles: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality."
For the sixth year in a row, SBD sponsored and participated in one of their premiere fundraising events in the Washington, DC area. The 15th Annual Red Tee Golf Tournament, benefiting the American Red Cross - National Capital Region Chapter, raises awareness and funds to respond to disasters, both in our community and beyond. Funds raised through the tournament are transformed into services delivered every day in our community, making a positive difference 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No one knows when disasters will happen, but we can never be too prepared for disaster relief.
SBD included an additional 4-some this year having both groups finishing in the Top 5 for the tournament (2nd place and 4th place respectively), and this year's event raised well over $100,000 to help carry out the American Red Cross mission!
