Solutions By Design II, LLC announces membership with the C5 acquisition vehicle
Vienna, Va. - August 11, 2017 – Solutions By Design II, LLC (SBD) is proud to announce our membership with the Consortium for Command, Control, and Communications in Cyberspace (C5). C5 is a federally authorized acquisition vehicle for government participants to collaborate with industry experts.
C5 was established in 2011 by the Army Contracting Command and is a Non-FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) based acquisition vehicle streamlined to bolster innovation.
The authority to use other transaction authorities (OTAs) was initially given to NASA in 1958. Over the years it has been expanded to include the Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration, and other agencies which, as a result, enables government participants to more quickly provide mission critical defense capabilities.
"SBD is honored to provide innovative solutions through C5's efficient acquisition process." said Clyde W. Goldbach, Jr., Executive Vice President. "The OTA is a unique opportunity because it provides rapid, Agile solutions for our Nation's Defense Department in times of mission-critical need without excessive overhead costs."
The C5 OTA has enabled SBD to provide white papers and build rapid prototypes for the Department of Defense aligning with the company's vision to be a leader in delivery of value and innovation so the government may better serve America.
